Earl's Obituary
Earl Eugene Reed, 55, of Grand Junction, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at his home. He was born November 30, 1960 to Jack and Anna (Pendergrass) Reed in Campbell, Missouri. Earl worked for BEI in South Haven for 25 years until 2012. He then became the lead mechanic at Stokes Blueberry Farms for the last five years. He married Debbie Eastman on March 7, 1981 at the Breedsville United Methodist Church. Earl loved to sing karaoke, mud running, riding his golf cart and snowmobiling. Earl also enjoyed playing with his grandchildren
He is preceded in death along with his parents by siblings – Jimmy Reed, Betty Chapman, and Pauline Maynard, grandson – Joseph A. Reed II, step-siblings – Wilburn and Tommy Logsdon, Carolyn Smart, Gaynale (Jervis) Campbell, Roy and Larry Logsdon.
Earl is survived by his wife of 34 years – Debbie Reed of Grand Junction, children – Joe (Angie Merritt) Reed of Shelbyville, Tennessee and Dawn (Travis) Guminski of Grand Junction, grandchildren – Kiahnna and Aria Reed, Josiah Merritt, McKenzie Guminski and Brianna Merritt, siblings – Butterball (Emily) Reed of Pullman, Mary (John) Hoots of Pullman, Nellie (John) Lorren of South Haven, and Deno (Shirley) Logsdon, step-siblings – David (Maxine) Logsdon of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Barbara (Mike) Williams of St. Louis, Missouri, Mary Lou (Danny) Pendergrass of Fennville, Janie Logsdon of Pullman, mother-in-law – Patsy Eastman of Old Town, Florida, brothers and sister-in-law – LaWanda Eastman of Breedsville, Sharon (Jim) Bowie of Breedsville, Rusty Eastman of Breedsville, John Eastman of Old Town, Florida, Lisa (Richie) Newberry of Breedsville and Robbie (Karen) Eastman of Breedsville. Many nieces and nephews and close friends – Roger and Kim Stokes and family of Grand Junction also survive.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 5:00 PM with Pastors Charles Hoots and Howard Bradford officiating at the funeral home.
