Galen's Obituary
Dear Family and Friends,
My son, Galen Kent Chestnut, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the South Haven Medical Center in South Haven, Michigan. He had been suffering for several months with Esophageal-Lung cancer.
Galen Kent was born in St. Charles, Missouri on Oct. 1, 1968.
Attended High School in the Parkway School District, St. Louis County, Missouri.
He attended Southeast Missouri State--Cape Girardeau; Univ. of Missouri--St. Louis; and ITT Technical Institute--where he majored in Electronics/Applied Science.
His employment experience included: Industrial Maintenance Technician, Lab Equipment
Repair Technician, Field Service Representative and Facility Maintenance Manager.
Galen Kent was very intelligent and persevering. He was our “Mr. Fix It”--got a problem, ask Galen. He was our handy man extraordinaire and was always willing to help others.
He loved to fish, but never had enough “fishing time”. He loved his friends, and his dog Maggie.
In accordance with his wishes, his remains will be cremated and interred in a grave site next to his mother in the Lee County Cemetery in Pullman, Michigan. There will be a sharing of Remembrance at his place of interment, at a date yet to be determined.
The Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven is handling all arrangements.
