Hannah's Obituary
Hannah Schlecker, 87, of South Haven and formerly of Bangor, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the River Ridge Retirement Community in South Haven. She was born July 22, 1927 to Joseph Krings in Dusseldorf, Germany. She married Otto Schlecker on April 13, 1949 in Munich, Germany. Hannah and her husband relocated to Montreal, Canada in 1952 and then the United States in 1960. She was a past president of the South Haven Hospital Auxiliary. Hannah put numerous volunteer hours in to the hospital auxiliary serving for 25 years.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Otto Schlecker and sister – Anna Marie Rubarth.
Hannah is survived by her children – Kirk (Julie) Schlecker of Alden, Michigan and Claude (Pamela) Schlecker of Oak Park, Illinois; five grandchildren – Joanne (Kevin) Kunkel, Kirk (Laura) Schlecker, Claudia (Christopher) Beal, Derek Schlecker and Cara Schlecker; seven great grandchildren – Kurtis, Cameron, and Quinn Kunkel, Hannah Sue, Ella Belle Schlecker, and Andrew and Matthew Beal.
Private family services will be scheduled. Contributions may be made in Hannah’s memory to South Haven’s Hospice at Home or South Haven Health System Auxiliary.
