John's Obituary
John M. Fines, 72, of Glenn, passed away peacefully at his home with family and friends under hospice care on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. John was born on December 13, 1942 in Detroit, MI to Charles and Mary (Spears) Fines. John was a graduate of Albion College and then went to work for the Blind and Handicapped Association in San Francisco, CA for many years. John returned to Michigan where he co-owned and managed the Glenn Shores Golf Course for 23 years. John enjoyed playing the 12 string guitar. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida in the off seasons.
John is survived by his sister, Frances (Bob) Merkin and brother, Charles (Beth) Fines; Three nieces – Rosey, Kim and Rohanna; Two nephews – Max and Graham.
An open house will be held Saturday, January 17th, at the ranch house off the 5th green at Glenn Shores Golf Course, 7097 Orchard Lake Dr, South Haven, MI 49090. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity in John’s memory.
