Stephen Herbert French

Stephen H. French, 61, local of South Haven, Michigan passed November 30, 2013 at his home. He was born September 29, 1952, to Duane and Joann French in South Haven, Michigan. Steve graduated from South Haven High School in 1971 and attended Western Michigan University, receiving his Bachelors of Arts degree.  Steve was an artist and a multiple award winner at art shows in Michigan, Illinois and Florida. He enjoyed being outdoors camping, landscaping and gardening.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Duane French and his stepfather, Dick Ingraham.

 He is survived by his mother, Joann Ingraham, of South Haven, Michigan, his children, Chris French of South Haven, Michigan, and Tim French of Jenison, Michigan, and his siblings, Gary (Sherry) French of South Haven, Michigan, Debbie (Wade) Slotman of Bay City, Texas, Carole (Carl) Crawford of Cassopolis, Michigan, and Valerie (Dan) Koscielski of Holland, Michigan.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The visitation will take place at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, from 2:30 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. The funeral service will follow at 5:00 P.M. officiated by Reverend Jeffrey S. Dick also at the funeral home. A memorial dinner will follow the services at the Moose Lodge in South Haven, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sarett Nature Center 2300 N. Benton Center Rd, Benton Harbor, MI 49022.
