Ruth Dotson

Ruth Ann Dotson, age 73, of South Haven died August 12, 2006 at home. She was born April 18, 1933 in Ripley, Ohio to William and Flora Herrmann. On September 26, 1953 Ruth married Willis Dotson in Ripley, Ohio. She retired from South Haven Community Hospital on December 23, 1993 after 12 years of service. Ruth loved celebrating Christmas with her family. She also loved cooking for her family and shopping.

She is survived by her three sons - Ronald (Kathy) Dotson, Lynn (Terri) Dotson and Timothy (Barb) Dotson all of South Haven, MI., Two daughters - Paula (Norm) Tietsema and Rebecca (Jerry) Goodrich both of South Haven, MI., 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Two sisters - Joan (Jim) Knapp of Columbus, Ohio and Imelda (George) Kimble of Georgetown, Ohio. Two brothers - Frank (Cathy) Herrmann of Batavia, Ohio and David (Juanita) Herrmann of Cincinnati, Ohio.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Flora Herrmann and her husband Willis (Norm) Dotson who died February 4, 1999. Four brothers - Paul Herrmann, Donald Herrmann, Robert Herrmann and Thomas Herrmann. Three sisters - Emma German, Hattie Herrmann and Martha Hebling. Three grandsons - Jarrod Dotson, Justin Dotson and Joshua Goodrich.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 16 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 17 at 11:00 A.M. at St Basil Catholic Church with Father John Young officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
