William "Butch"'s Obituary
William “Butch” K. Barthel, age 63, of South Haven, died Friday, October 20, 2006 at his residence. He was born June 1, 1943 to Charles Kenneth and Grace (Brinks) Barthel. He married Elke Pfeiffer on May 31, 1965 in Germany. William worked at Lovejoy for over 30 years before his retirement. Butch served his country in the US Air Force during the Veitnam War. He worked as a mechanic and was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany.
He is preceded by his father Charles Kenneth Barthel.
He is survived by his wife Elke Barthel of South Haven, one son-Andreas (Cheryl) Barthel of Holland, Michigan and one daughter-Sabine (Brendan) Callaghan of South Haven, MI ., six grandchildren-Tyler Barthel, Nicole Barthel, Stephanie Barthel, Alex Barthel, Patrick Callaghan, and Camron Callaghan, and his mother Grace Barthel of South Haven, MI.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 25, at 11:00 AM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Linstrom officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
