Ricky Harold Blair

Ricky Harold Blair, 56, of Grand Junction, Michigan died Monday, January 29 at his home.

He was born January 9, 1951 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Alfred and Velma (Phillips) Blair. Ricky graduated from South Haven High School in 1970. While in high school he was on the Ram’s wrestling team. Ricky served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1970 to 1974 as a Military Police Sergeant. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1977 to 1980. Ricky was a hero and a decorated soldier for saving the life of a fellow comrade. After his distinguish military career, Ricky worked as a semi truck driver, as a rigger in the oil fields and most recently on Blair Farms. In his leisure, Ricky enjoyed playing paint ball.

He is preceded in death by two brothers – Mike Blair in 1991 and Ronnie Blair in 2006.

He was survived by two sons – Ricky H. (Patricia) Blair Jr., of Bangor, Michigan and Keith Blair of South Haven, Michigan. Six daughters – Amy Blair of South Haven, Michigan, Michelle Blair of Richmond, Virginia, Crystal Blair of Louisville, Kentucky, Heather Johnson of Muskegon, Michigan, Ashley Johnson of Holton, Michigan and Brittney Johnson of Holton, Michigan. His parents, Alfred and Velma Blair of Grand Junction. Five grandchildren – Athina, Zachary, Kahlieb, Alexander and Ethan. Two brothers – Randy (Becky) Blair of Marcellus, Michigan and Reggie Blair of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Sister-in-law – Debbie Blair. Six nephews and two nieces also survive.

Visitation will be from 6 – 9 PM on Wednesday, January 31, and on Thursday, Feb. 1, from 10-11 AM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Kenneth Craig officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, South Haven.
