Margaret L.'s Obituary
Margaret L. Filbrandt, 78, of South Haven died Sunday, July 1 at Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee, Michigan.
She was born February 2, 1929 in Gainesville, Arkansas to Lester and Sarah (Gatetrell) Mehrely. Margaret married Jerald Filbrandt on September 17, 1950. in South Haven. She worked as a nurses aid and in the lab at the South Haven Community Hospital for many years until her retirement. Margaret enjoyed her flower gardens and reading. In her earlier years she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Margaret was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Jerald Filbrandt who died in 2001.
She is survived by her son – Daniel (Sharon) Filbrandt of Ishpeming, Michigan. Three grandchildren – Tim (Julie) Filbrandt, Rachael (Andrew) Kallioinen and Benjamin Filbrandt all of Ishpeming, Michigan.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 5 from 6 – 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Hennig officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
