Wilma Arlene's Obituary
Wilma Arlene Anderson, 102, of Covert died Saturday, July 11 at home.
She was born January 28, 1907 in Covert, Michigan to James and Ada (Pompey) Gowens. Wilma married Rudolph Hayden Anderson. Wilma worked as a cook at the family owned Regal Restaurant in Covert. Wilma loved to cook, bake and garden. Wilma was a member of the Congregational Church in Covert and a member of the Covert Township Library Board.
Wilma is preceded in death along with her parents and her husband by her brothers – Ernest Gowens, Donald, Erwin, Russell and Doyle.
She is survived by her daughter – Betty (Maurice) Colombel of South Haven, Michigan. Three grandchildren – Craig (Stacy) Colombel of Seattle, Washington, Keith Colombel of Benton Harbor, Michigan, and Allison (Timothy McDougal) Colombel of Washington D.C. Six great grandchildren – Keittra, Kamille, Kyla, Keith Jr., Shanona, and Noelle. One great great granddaughter – Kynnia. One brother – Richard (Catalina) Gowans of Oklahoma. A niece – Cheryl Lauderdale of Covert, Michigan also survives.
Graveside services will take place on Saturday, July 18 at 11:00 A.M. at the Covert Cemetery with Pastor Duane Jones officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to South Haven Hospice at Home. Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the Family’s online guest book at www.FilbrandtFFH.com.
