Joseph's Obituary
Joseph Carmel Schirripa, 91, of South Haven formerly of Richland, Michigan died at his home in South Haven.
He was born May 1, 1920 in Meadowbrook, West Virginia to John and Frances (Nocera) Schirripa. Joseph served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II as a Ship’s Serviceman, Second Class. He married Mary Ammendolia on June 26, 1949 in Grant Town, West Virginia. Joseph worked as a purchasing agent for Eaton Corp. in Kalamazoo before retiring in 1983. Joseph also worked as a developer of the Windsurfer Condominiums. Joseph was a member of St. Basil Catholic Church. He loved to golf.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his two sisters – Mary Larry and Grace Oliverio.
He is survived by his wife – Mary Schirripa of South Haven, Michigan. Two sons – Michael (Susan) Schirripa of Coral Gables, Florida and Mark (Lora) Schirripa of Edwardsburg, Michigan. One grandchild – Gabriella Schirripa. One sister – Josephine Nocida of Vienna, West Virginia. Two brothers - Domenick Schirripa of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Samuel Schirripa of Shinnston, West Virginia also survives.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday, July 6, at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. A scripture service will begin a 7:00 PM during the visitation. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 7, at 11:00 AM at St. Basil Catholic Church with Rev. Father Robert Flickinger officiating. Entombment will take place at Mt.
