Elayne Babcock Penwell

Elayne (Blaney) Babcock Penwell, died Saturday, April 24, 2010 at her home. She was born November 10, 1922 in Buchanan, MI. She graduated from Buchanan High School in 1940. In August of 1941 she married Walter J. Babcock. He preceded her in death in January 1993. In January of 1998, she married Richard L. Penwell. He preceded her in death in February of 2002. She was employed at Clark Equipment Company as a legal secretary for 28 years. Survivors include children, Jill A. Babcock of Lyons, Colorado, Joni (Rein) Metzger of Granger, Indiana, and Jack Babcock of Buchanan; one much adored granddaughter, Kristin L. (Jason) Metzger Cronkhite of Schaumburg, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Irene Blaney and a brother, Donald W. Blaney. A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 11:30 am at the Swem Chapel, Buchanan with visitation two hours prior from 9:30 am – 11:30 am.
