Winnogene's Obituary

Zephyrhills, FL – Winogene (Steele) Baker, 84 Formerly of Valparaiso, IN, died Friday, November 6, 2009 at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills, FL. Winogene was born on August 11, 1925 in Valparaiso, IN, to the late Richard and Willa (Wansbrough) Steele. On July 30, 1955 at the Naval Air Station in Coco Solo, Canal Zone, she married George P. Baker who preceded her in death in 1991. Winogene was a business teacher in the Chesterton Public Schools retiring in 1984. Surviving is a son, John Baker and a foster son Mike Ysmael, as well a granddaughter Elizabeth Sanchez She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 164, Past Midwest Toastmaster Club, BPW organization, Past State President (71-72) In. Fed. of Business and Professional Women's Club. Graveside Services were held on Tuesday November 10, 2009 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan, Michigan.
