Marie Agnes Derbas

Galien – Marie Agnes Derbas, 94, of Galien, MI died Sunday, March 21, 2010 in her home. She was born May 19, 1915 in Chicago, IL to the late George and Michaelina (Cezars) Koziel. On August 21, 1937 she married Joseph A Derbas, who preceded her in death on November 10, 1937. Marie worked as a beautician out of her home for many years. Following retirement she moved to Phoenix for a number of years before returning to Galien. Surviving are her children, Arleen Imus of Leesburg, FL, June (James) Sounart of Carlsbad, CA and Daniel (Linda) Derbas of Galien; brothers, Theodore Koziel and John (Janet) Koziel both of Galien; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by eight siblings and a great grandchild. The Memorial Mass will be 11am Thursday, March 25, 2010 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Buchanan. Fr. Mathew Manalel will officiate. Wednesday, March 24, 2010 will be a gathering for family and friends from 4:30-7:30pm at the Swem Chapel, Buchanan.
