Frank's Obituary

Franklin “Frank” Kroening, 69, of Benton Harbor, died Tuesday, June 2, 2006 at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, June 5, 2006, with Rev. Paul Koehneke officiating at Peace Lutheran Church, 3590 Lincoln Avenue, St. Joseph. Burial will follow with Military Rites conducted at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Sunday, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church. Those wishing to share a memory online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Frank was born June 13, 1937 in Stevensville, Michigan to Carl and Emma (Kaatz) Kroening. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. Frank was a beer salesman for Southend Beverage, was a member of the American Legion post 345, the Benton Harbor Moose Lodge #1570, and a member of Golf Amputee. He loved to golf and garden. Frank is survived by his daughter Karen (Ray) Ginder of Alton, Missouri, grandson Jason (Tara) Orr of West Plains, Missouri; sister Anna Sener of Grand Rapids, Michigan; special friend Marge; and numerous nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers – Chuck Kroening, and Art Kaatz.
