Barbara's Obituary
Barbara's life began on August 8, 1944, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Edna (Leigh) Pavlovic. She was united in marriage to Sam Woollet in the late 1970s in Brookfield, Ill. In the early 1960s, Barbara worked downtown Chicago for the electric company, and she later worked assembling Jeeps for the U.S. Army at AM General. She enjoyed painting apartment units with her late husband and doing clerical work for her daughter. However, Barbara always found time to work on different craft projects. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, making ceramics and making jewelry. Her loving family includes her children Tammy (Dan) Williams of Dowagiac, Michelle Lynn (James) Lawson of Dowagiac, and David (Alysia) Gordy, Jr., of Watervliet; she is also survived by her former husband David L. Gordy, Sr. of Niles, a stepson Jason Woollet of Michigan, a sister Linda Nicosia of Downers Grove, Ill.; grandchildren Beth Williams, Jacob Williams, Brian Lawson, Scott Lawson, Mathew Lawson, Audreanna Gordy, Justin Gordy, Tiffany Williams, Daniel Williams III, Taylor O'Neal, and Tristin O'Neal; great-grandchildren Chase, Holly, Scott Jr., Wyatt, Arionna, and Alexander; sister-in-laws Carol (Victor) Ott of Niles, Sally Woollet of Florida, and Sharon (Butch) Meadows of Nevada; a brother-in-law Philip (Margaret) Woollet of Niles; and several nieces and nephews. Barbara passed away at her home on June 19, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Woollet, her parents John and Edna, stepfather Leo Madden and sisters Ina Santana and Terry Darda. Her family will gather with friends on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel, Dowagiac, where her funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m., led by Pastor Michael Fields from Bright Star Tabernacle.
