Margaret's Obituary

Peggy’s life began on March 30, 1936 in Cassopolis, the daughter Lawrence and Cecil (Wire) Nelson. She was a 1954 graduate of Dowagiac Central High School. Peggy was united in marriage to Charles R. Sprague on June 19, 1954 at Silver Creek United Methodist Church. Peggy was a 4-H leader for many years and served as superintendent of the flower building at the Cass County 4-H Youth Fair. She was a long time member of the Silver Creek United Methodist Church. Peggy loved to sew, quilt, garden and studying genealogy. Her loving family includes her husband Charles Sprague of Dowagiac, children Linda (Ken) Baker of Vienna, West Virginia, and David (Crystal) Sprague of Dowagiac, grandchildren Jason (Amanda) Sprague and Justin Sprague, both of Dowagiac, Zachary Baker of Charleston, West Virginia and Breanna Baker of Vienna, West Virginia, sisters Nancy Thorne of Lady Lake, FL and Jackie Craven of Goshen, IN. Peggy passed away on Monday August 29, 2011 at the Cass County Medical Care Facility. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Larry and Stephen Nelson. Peggy’s family will gather with friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Silver Creek United Methodist Church led by Pastor Heather McDougall. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
