Frank Starling

Frank’s life began on September 29, 1935 in Choctaw County, Mississippi, the son of Governor Henry and Bertha Lee (Jackson) Starling. He was united in marriage to Rubbie Lee Starling on August 15, 1954 in Eupora, MS. Frank was employed by Du-Wel Industries and for Springsteen’s sawmill. He worshiped at Peace Temple COGIC in Dowagiac. Frank enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and raising chickens. He loved to work and he really loved to socialize. His loving family includes his children James Starling of Dowagiac, Jessica Starling of Benton Harbor, Jennifer Starling of Big Rapids, MI and Jasmine Starling of Coloma, a host of grandchildren, sisters Fannie Vann of Dowagiac, and Flora Anderson of Viejo, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Frank passed away on Tuesday November 8, 2011 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He is preceded in death by his wife, a son Frank Starling, Jr, and brothers Floyd, Freeman and Fred Starling. His family will gather with friends on Monday from 11-1 p.m. at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church (M-62 West) where his home going service will be held at 1 p.m. led by Pastor Tonnie Blackamore.
