Kenneth Ross Hartman

Kenneth Ross Hartman, 77, passed away at the Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Kenneth was born to Preston and Vivian (Barns) Hartman on August 22, 1934, in Dowagiac, MI. He married Mable Krager on July 10, 1954 at the Methodist Church in Dowagiac, MI. His loving family includes his Wife Mable, children Debbie Hartman, Patti (Mike) Wiggins, Mark Hartman, Jeff (Karen Bauer) Hartman and Craig (Krista) Hartman, grandchildren Tim Wiggins, Dan (Amy) Wiggins, Doug Wiggins, Megan (Wiggins) LaPorte, Aaron Hartman, Derrek Hartman, Kyle Hartman, Mark (Shelby) Mills, Janet (Benny) Rodriguez, Alexander Hartman, great-grandchildren Zachary, Parker and Aidan Wiggins, Jacob and Adeline LaPorte, Andrew, Wyatt and Eli Hartman, Mason, Marissa and Morgan Mills and Baylee Rodriguez, brother Jim Hartman, sister Linda (Bob Nelson) Hartman and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tom Hartman and great-grandson McKager Mills. Kenneth was employed by Rudy Manufacturing, Sundstrand Modine and National Copper for 42 years. After retirement he was active in Cass County Historical Society, 4-H, Council on Aging as a volunteer driver, woodworking, genealogy, local history including one room schools, the board of SMC Museum and in several public offices. He enjoyed an annual trip to Mackinaw City with his family to walk the Mackinaw Bridge on Labor Day. Kenneth’s family will gather with friends on Saturday, June 30, 2012, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where a Memorial Service will follow on Saturday at 1 p.m. led by Pastor John Kasper. He will be laid to rest in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to Cass County Council on Aging.
