Theresa's Obituary

Theresa Schilling, 51, of Eau Claire, went to meet her Lord & Savior Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at home, after a long battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 3713 Naomi Rd., Sodus, with Rev. Robert Duehlmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Caldwell Cemetery in Eau Claire. Friends may call from 2-6 P.M. Sunday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Berrien County Cancer Service. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Theresa was born July 17, 1954 in St. Joseph to Arthur & Frances (Harris) Pudell. She graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1972 and attended Lake Michigan College. On November 27, 1976, she married Fred Schilling in St. Joseph. Theresa owned & operated The Account Works from 1989 until her health forced her retirement this year. She also was involved in the family business, Schilling Farms, as the book & record keeper, as well as being the local training & set-up representative for Quick-Books. Theresa was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sodus. She loved spending time with her family; especially traveling across the country. Theresa traveled with her brothers in the summer months, and during the slow winter months on the farm, she traveled with her husband, Fred. She loved spending time out of doors and camping. Theresa enjoyed decorative painting-creating murals on the walls at home. She also enjoyed crafts-creating bird houses from dried gourds, and making many beautiful quilts. Theresa is survived by her husband Fred; three children-Eric Schilling, at home, Audrey Schilling of Big Rapids, MI, Nathan Schilling, at home; her mother Frances Pudell of Eau Claire; her sister Rebecca (Allen) Christmann of Phoenix, AZ; three brothers-Dale (Lynn) Pudell of Watervliet, James (Marjorie) Pudell of Eau Claire, Randy Pudell of Bridgeport, LA; her mother-in-law-Virginia Schilling McCarthy of Millburg; sister-in-law-Ann (Michael) Stando of Livonia, MI; brothers-in-law-Steve (Judy) Schilling of Eau Claire & David Schilling of Berrien Center; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Arthur Pudell on February 9, 2004, and by her father-in-law Fred Schilling, Sr. and her step-father-in-law John McCarthy
