Debra June Ashley

Debra June Ashley, 57, of Dowagiac, passed away in her home, August 11, 2013. She was born December 20, 1955, in Sturgis, MI to Marvel & Caroline (McKale) VanNuys. Debra grew up in the Mennonite Church, and also attended the Apostolic Lighthouse Church. She was a Caregiver for L.A.D.D in Dowagiac. Debra enjoyed watching movies, reading, and hunting in her early days. She is survived by her husband, Ross Ashley, of Dowagiac, MI; her son, Andrew Ostrowski, of Dowagiac, MI; Andrew’s father, Jerry Ostrowski, of Dowagiac, MI; two step children, Tyler & Joselyn Ashley, both of Dowagiac, MI; sister, Joyce Pipier, of Elkhart, IN; brother, Jim VanNuys, of TX; and many nieces & nephews. Debra was preceded in death by her parents. Her funeral service will be Friday, August 30, 2013, 1:00pm, at Moore Park Cemetery, Three Rivers, MI.
