ST. JOSEPH – Robert “Bob” Reifschneider, 82, of St. Joseph, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2007, at Lakeland Continuing Care in St. Joseph. A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, at Saron Lutheran Church in St. Joseph with Pastor Philip Nordstrand officiating. Burial will follow in Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to Saron Lutheran Church. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.starks-menchinger.com. Bob was born on July 9, 1924, in Baroda, to Jacob and Amelia (Schlegel) Reifschneider. On April 6, 1946, he married Thelma Stromberg in St. Joseph. He spent 36 years working as a plastering contractor before joining St. Joseph Public Schools. He retired from the school system after 13 years of service. His favorite things to do involved deer hunting up north and spending time at his cottage where he enjoyed fishing on Rush Lake. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Thelma Reifschneider of St. Joseph; his children, Suellen (James) Mischke and Linda (Bruce) Huff, both of St. Joseph, and Philip (Barb) Reifschneider of Coloma; a brother, Lester (Molly) Reifschneider of Baroda; seven grandchildren, Robert (Debra) Mischke, Jill (Brian) Haboush, Jami (Mark) Koebel, Julie (Jeff) Miazga, Jay Hendrix, Andrew Huff, and Aryn Huff; and 11 great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Matthew, Megan, Jack, Taylor, Kirsten, Shelby, Mychael, Wyatt, Levi, and Selene. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jacob and Albert Reifschneider; five sisters, Molly Radde, Helen Schmidt, Linda Burns, Anna Samuelson, and Esther Reifschneider; and a granddaughter, Cory.
