Isabella McCoy

Isabella McCoy, 78, of Dowagiac, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at her son’s home in Cocoa FL. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday February 8, 2014 at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac at 1:00 P.M. with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Isabella was born on May 17, 1935 to Oscar and Roxie (Reeder) Gilpin in Brodhead, KY. She married Richard McCoy in 1952 in Cass County. Isabella loved her family and if you visited her home she would try to feed you. Especially loved was her homemade fudge. She was lovingly referred to as the “roadrunner” as she loved to shop. Isabella loved to dress up for Halloween even up into her later years. Her favorite football team was anyone who was playing against Notre Dame. Isabella spoke straightforward with meaning, but she would have given you the shirt off her back if she thought you needed it. Isabella is survived by her sons David (Andrea) McCoy, Danny (Pamela) McCoy, Kenny McCoy; a daughter Vivian (William) Matthews; grandchildren Ashley McCoy, Tiffany McCoy, Danielle McCoy, Josh McCoy, John McCoy, Holly Adamczyk, Heidi Parent, Heather Drotoz and William Matthews Jr.; great-grandchildren Brianna Blad, Hunter Hawkins, Logan Johnson, Mason Johnson, Kaysen McCoy, Olivia Drotoz, Jillian Drotoz, Adelyn Isabella Drotoz, Braiden Adamczyk, Dawson Adamczyk, Emma Adamczyk, Katelyn Parent; a great-grandson on the way; a brother David (Wanda) Gilpin and a sister Loretta (Boyd) Coulson. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers James and Oscar Gilpin, sisters Josephine, Christine Redmond and Peggy (Roxie) Atwood.
