Evelyn's Obituary

Evelyn was born on March 6, 1923 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Harry and Julia (Lewis) Tinker. She was united in marriage to Gordon M. Myrkle on August 14, 1943 in Lawrence, MI. Evelyn was an avid homemaker and enjoyed the company of others. She also had a career outside the home working for Rudy Manufacturing, Dowagiac Co-op, Heddon’s and Kincheloe School where she retired in 1988 after 18 years of service. She was a member of the Red Hat’s and past member of Keeler United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, baking, arts & crafts, and painting. Her surviving family includes her daughter Sandra (Larry) Conrad of Dowagiac, MI, two grandchildren; Kristie Conrad of South Bend, IN and Andrew (Annie) Conrad of Niles, MI, and one great grandson Chase Conrad. Evelyn was called home on Friday, February 14, 2014. She was preceded in death by parents, husband in 1992 and her brother George Tinker. Her family will have a gathering at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, MI on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 11:00am until the time of the funeral service at noon. Evelyn’s burial will follow at Hamilton Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to The American Cancer Society.
