Arlene's Obituary

Arlene M. Sedlar of Hastings, MN went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Regina Medical Center, Hastings, MN. Arlene was born on October 20, 1934 in Gary, IN. She met and married Ted (lover boy) on August 21, 1954. They made their home and raised their family for most of their life in Dowagiac, MI. Upon retirement they moved Hastings, MN to live with their daughter Denise and her family. They spent their winters in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was a member of Beta-Signa Phi Sorority Theta-Mu Chapter. She enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers. Her life-long love of cooking and baking was shared over the years with family and friends. Her door was always open and the coffee pot was always on. She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore; parents John and Lucretia Radoe; one brother, J.R.; and a step sister, Mary. Arlene is survived by her children, Art (Chris) Sedlar of Tulsa, OK; Denise (Larry) Monhaut of Hastings, MN; Greg (Carolin) Sedlar, Mark Sedlar and Jim Sedlar all of Dowagiac; 15 grandchildren, Amy Berman, Nicole Shelton, Karen Fritz, Monica Cain, Holly Costa, Amber Campbell, Matt Swartz, Joe Sedlar, Jonathan Sedlar, Josh Sedlar, Samantha Rial, Nate Monhaut, Jacob Sedlar, Jessica Sedlar and Kevin Sedlar; 20 great grandchildren, Emma & Lilly Costa; Benjamin, Ally Joy, and Blake Berman; Noah Fritz; Vinny, Nevaeh Shelton; baby Henry Cain; Alexis, Breanna and Dexter Campbell; Austin, Elliana, Zachary and Jacob Rial; McKensie Sedlar, Morgan and Mitilda Walters; Hunter and Tanner Sedlar; brothers, Nick (Jo Ellen) Radoe of Austin, TX and Lou (Judee) Radoe of Hobart, IN; and Baby Henry on his way. Her family will have a gathering for friends Friday, February 21, 2014 from 4:00pm till 8:00pm at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, MI. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 am at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, 210 N. Front, Dowagiac, MI. Following the mass she will be entrusted to the Cremation Services of Southwest Michigan. In Arlene’s name, memorials may be made to donor’s choice or to the family.
