Charles's Obituary
Beautiful Charlie “left the planet” while sleeping at home on Thursday, February 20, 2014 in Dowagiac, MI. Charlie, 66, was born in Dowagiac. He was self-employed as an auto wholesaler for over 40 years. His many interests included sitting on the beach, bike riding through Glen Arbor, good food & wine, music, and spending time with his family and friends. His kids were his greatest joy and he always made sure they were warm with a coat or scarf. He is survived by his parents Jack and Betty (nee James) Biek of Dowagiac, MI; children Missy Biek of Elkhart, IN, C.J. (Leslie) Biek of Elkhart, IN, Marie Biek of Elkhart, IN and Devin Biek of Goshen, IN and by their mother Loa Biek of Elkhart; his grandson Oliver Biek; seven brothers and sisters, Becky (Peter) McIntyre of TX, Jackie (Chris) Kelly of IL, Mary Biek of MI, Katie (Rick) Moore of MI, Andrew Biek of MI, John (Julie) Biek of MI, and Anna Biek of MI; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Joe. He served his country honorably and proudly in the Army from 1968 to 1970. A Celebration of Life for Charlie will be held Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 11AM to 3:30PM at the Wood Fire restaurant on 134 S. Front St., Dowagiac, MI. The family will greet visitors from 11AM to 1:00PM followed by a sharing of stories and a celebration of Charlie’s life. Everyone who knew Charlie surely had a story to tell! Charlie has been entrusted to the Cremation Services of Southwest Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to a charity of your choice.
