Joel's Obituary
Joel Bernard Aulinskis passed away peacefully at his own home surrounded by his loved ones on April 30th, 2014. He was born on February 24th, 1938 to Eilene Winona Olson and Bernard (Dutch) Aulinskis of Kewanee, IL. He left this earth to meet his beloved wife Mary-Ann Aulinskis and brother Ron (Judy) Aulinskis of Chicago Heights, IL. He is leaving behind his loving brother Gary Aulinskis of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Bob Aulinskis of Michigan. Joel has many relatives that will miss him including cousins; Karen (Frank) Quanstrom of Kewanee, IL and Sherry (Don) Allen of Texas and 10 nieces and nephews. Joel joined the Navy in 1956 where he served two years overseas and was honorably discharged after four years of service. Joel spent the remainder of his life working as “Joel the Carpet Guy.” Joel was a proud member of the Moose Club in Niles, Michigan where he played pool. He also played pool for Colonial Bar in Niles, Michigan. Joel was the captain of two pool league teams out of the Wounded Minnow in Dowagiac, Michigan. Joel was a friend to all that knew him. He had a full life and was loved by many. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Heartland Hospice of Kalamazoo. There will be a memorial service for Joel at the Dowagiac Moose Club on Saturday, May 3rd starting at 5 p.m. For those who are unable to attend, please take the opportunity to sign his guestbook and leave a condolence and/or memory of Joel at the website of Clark Chapel at www.clarkch.com.
