Robert's Obituary

Robert “Bob” A. Nash, 89, formerly of Stevensville, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2007, at The Willows in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Stevensville United Methodist Church, 5506 Ridge Rd. in Stevensville with Rev. Terri Bently officiating. Burial will follow at Ruggles Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. Until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Stevensville United Methodist Church or to The Willows. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mr. Nash was born December 4, 1918 in Stevensville, Michigan to Claud & Louisa (Arend) Nash. He graduated from Stevensville High School in 1936. On February, 14, 1942 he married Bernadine (Borst) Nash in Stevensville. She then preceded him in death after 57 wonderful years of marriage. Robert was self-employed as a Brick Mason for many years until he joined Pollee Masonry in Stevensville and retired after ten years. Robert was a life time member of Stevensville United Methodist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed needle work with his plastic canvas, gardening, stamp collecting, crossword puzzles, Christmas music, and breakfast at Berts with the seniors every Tuesday. Mr. Nash is survived by his son Gerald (Diana) Nash of Baroda; one grandchild David (Nicole) Nash and two great-grandchildren Samantha & Wyatt Nash. In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by his wife Bernadine Nash; one brother Earl (Emily) Nash; and three sisters Mabel (Ed) Lincolnhol, Irene (Frank) Stiglich, and Naomi (Ben) Peddy.
