Katty was a devoted wife and wonderful mother. She loved cooking and it was known that she always had an extra place at her table for a stranger. She loved going to rummage sales and picking up “early Christmas gifts” for her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing and there was never an empty button hole. She never missed a canning season and the pantry was always stocked with fresh canned fruits and vegetables. She also enjoyed looking at family photos and sharing albums with family and friends with abundant stories that went with each photo. One of her favorite sayings was, “I’m okay”!
Her friends and family will gather on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Keeler General Baptist Church in Hartford, MI., followed by a Celebration of Her Life at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ephrain Maya officiating.
