Leroy E. Herbert

Leroy E. Herbert, 82 of St. Joseph, died Monday, March 9th, 2009 at his home in St. Joseph surrounded by his loving family. A visitation celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Leroy was born September 5, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to Lee and Bessie (Ledescky) Herbert. He worked many years as a manufacturing representative in commercial heating and cooling. He married his wife Helen Drumm Powers Herbert on October 24, 1995 in Naperville, IL. Leroy is survived by his wife, Helen and his four children, Gary (Vicki) Herbert of Chicago, IL, Janice (William) Mallas of Barlett, IL, Donna (Michael) Andreoni of Naperville, IL, and Susan (Michael) Deblois of Colchester, IL. He is also survived by two stepchildren, Mariann (Robert) Litznerski of St. Joseph, MI and Archie (Shannon) Powers of Boca Raton, FL. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine in 1993 and also by his parents Lee and Bessie.
