Tyree Brister, Jr., 49, a loving husband, father, grand-daddy and brother of Baroda passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 9193 Cleveland Ave., Baroda, officiated by Rev. Kenneth S. Babcock with burial to follow at Ruggles Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to Berrien County Cancer Service or to the family. Tyree was born June 8, 1960 in Tylertown, Mississippi, to Tryee and Julia (Gatlin) Brister, Sr. He was a graduate of Lakeshore High School in 1979. He started working for Michigan – Wisconsin Pipeline Co. in September of 1979 the company name was changed to A & R Pipeline Co. and to the present TransCanada where he was a maintenance machinist. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden while talking with friends. He married the love of his life Claudia Martin on June 8, 1996, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He is survived by his wife Claudia of Baroda; a daughter Heidi (John) Perew of Benton Harbor; two grandsons Lee and John; three brothers Odell Brister of Benton Harbor, Bobby (Betty) Brister and Billy (Kristie) Brister of Rosenberg TX; eight sisters Alice (Verlin) McClendon of Tyler TX; Edwenia Morgan and Ida Brister of Benton Harbor; Brenda (Jeff) Cooper of Milwaukee, WI; Brookie (Chris) Hawkins of Austin, TX; Nellie (Chuncy) Dillon of Tylertown, MS; Cathy Brister of Austin TX; Angela (Quentin) Haynes of Milwaukee, WI; and also a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
