Barbara Steinke

Barbara “Gale” Steinke, 69, of Stevensville passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010 at her home. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 1:30 P.M. Friday, March 5, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph. Following the service a luncheon will be held at the Rose Center. Barbara was born December 7, 1940 in Gary, IN to Barton & Barbara (Mathew) Hamacher. She graduated from Rensselaer High School in IN. On July 16, 1960 she married Harvey Steinke in Rensselaer, IN. Barbara worked as a sales Clerk for Sanitary Cleaners in Bridgman. In her spare time she enjoyed antiques on the bluff where she participated for ten years. She also enjoyed garage sales and traveling. Barbara is survived by her husband Harvey Steinke of Stevensville; son Bob (Charlene) Steinke of Baroda; two grandchildren James Steinke of Baroda and Jessica (Cory) Kimbrell of Baroda; five great grandchildren Ava & Abby Steinke, Keigh, Kraven & Keirra Kimbrell; four brothers Fred (Mary) Hamacher of NV, Dale (Trish) Hamacher of AZ, Byron (Janet) Hamacher of IN, and Thom (Deb) Hamacher of KS. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and sister.
