SAINT JOSEPH– Dorothy A. Morrow, 91, of St. Joseph, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI, after a short illness. The funeral arrangements have been made with Starks and Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. A funeral Mass will be said on Saturday, June 26, at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph. A visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friends wishing to sign the family guestbook or to leave a message may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. The family has requested that memorial donations be made to Beaumont Hospital Critical Care , Royal Oak, MI or Lakeland Regional Medical Center Critical Care. Dorothy was born September 8, 1918 in Chicago Ill. to James and Beatrice McKenzie. She graduated from Mercy High School in Chicago in 1936, and married James B. Morrow in 1938. Mother of seven children, she became a part time area resident in the early 1960s with a family cottage in Watervliet, and a permanent resident of St. Joseph in 1971. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Besides being a gifted story teller, she was an enthusiastic bridge player, and was active in several bridge groups up until just three weeks ago. She was also active in the Lionesses Club for many years and other charitable groups. Dorothy is survived by her sisters Loraine Dix and Rosemary Kaiser of Chicago, IL; her children, James B. Jr. of Clarkston MI, Maureen of Waterford, MI, Anne Dudley (Thomas) of Union Lake, MI, William (Linda) of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Michael of Ann Arbor MI, Thomas (Pamela) of Oakwood, OH; and ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Margaret Anne; her husband James B. Morrow; her sister Catherine; and her brothers James and William McKenzie.
