Lucille Haynes

Lucille “Jackie” D. Haynes, 86, of St. Joseph, MI, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Caretel Inns in St. Joseph, MI. A Celebration on Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society of Southwest Michigan. Those wishing to share a memory of Lucille may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. Lucille was born October 26, 1926 in St. Joseph, MI to Ewald & Minnie (Knaufkee) Kerlikowske. She was a Nurse’s Aide during WWII at Fort Custer in Battle Creek, MI. She then worked at Sears in Benton Harbor in the parts department, and following that she worked at JC Penney’s in the men’s department. She later worked as a Senior Healthcare Provider at Home. Jackie was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing and bowling in her spare time. Jackie is survived by her sons Gary Haynes of St. Joseph, MI, and Mike (Thelma) Haynes of Lowell, MI, 3 grandchildren Robert (Barbara) Mask, Heather (Jon) Hoezee, and Darcy (Jeremy) Brady; 6 great-grandchildren Nekotah, Lucian and Zacchaeus Mask, Tessa and Bree Hoezee and Aden Brady. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Jane.
