Melosine's Obituary

Melosine Schuett, 88, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, December 30, at Napier Parkview Baptist Church, 245 W. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor with Dr. J.O. Hosler officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel , 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Melosine was born November 22, 1925 in Lutsk, Poland to Gustav & Karoline (Busse) Hanusch. On February 12, 1949 she married Guenter Schuett in Luetjenburg, Germany. After the birth of their two sons, they immigrated to the United States in 1952 and settled in the area. Melosine then devoted her life to making a wonderful home for her family. She enjoyed gardening, needlework, canning, and baking; but she especially looked forward to time spent with her family and friends. She was a member of Napier Parkview Baptist Church and was involved in numerous church activities. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Guenter, sons Heinz (Rosemary) Schuett of Ann Arbor and Gerhard (Janice) Schuett of Scottville; eight grandchildren; thirteen (soon to be 14) great-grandchildren; brother Albert Hanusch of WA; sister-in-law Barbara Hanusch of TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Herbert Hanusch, Lina Hammer, and Walda Hanusch and daughter-in-law Rita Schuett.
