Phyllis Lawrick

Phyllis Lawrick, 88, of Stevensville, MI passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Pine Ridge Nursing Center in Stevensville.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph with Pastor Robert Confer officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Prime Time Ministry @ First Church of God. Those wishing to share a memory of Phyllis online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com  Phyllis was born March 6, 1927 in Minneapolis, MN to Oliver & Margie (Ditty) Neilson. On November 28, 1953 she married Donald Lawrick in Minneapolis. Phyllis worked for Lakeshore Public Schools as a Baker and retired in 1992 after 20 years of service. She was a member of First Church of God Prime Timers. In her spare time she enjoyed baking cakes and pastries, playing the piano, spending time with family and was always willing to help out others.  Phyllis is survived by her son David (Sara) Lawrick; daughter Barbara (Chris) Kotzian; four grandchildren Daniel and James Lawrick and Adam & Avery Kotzian; and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Ralph Neilson.
