Imogene Fisher, 87 of Saint Joseph passed away Monday June 8, 2015, surrounded by family and friends.
Celebration of Life Eternal Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 13 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 3351 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Dean Pickett officiating. Burial will follow at Keeler Cemetery in Keeler, Michigan. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Imogene was born Imogene Anderson on November 28, 1927 to Loyal Hulon Anderson and Della Ada (Harvell) Anderson. She was born in Gid, Arkansas. She was the oldest of three children. Imogene spent her life as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Imogene married her loving husband Loren Delbert Fisher on August 28th, 1943, and together they shared 68 wonderful years. The couple had three beautiful children, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. They faithfully attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Saint Joseph, until his death in 2012. Imogene maintained that tradition until her death. Imogene and Loren lived most of their lives in the Benton Harbor area.
Imogene loved her family and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed playing cards and listening to country music. She also enjoyed watching old westerns on television. She was a founding member of the Saint Joseph PACE program where she made numerous friends as well. Imogene was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making preserves, and a number of other delicious treats that she shared with her friends and family.
Imogene is survived by her son, D. Allen (Robin) Fisher of Niles; two daughters Debra (Jimmie) Kent of Bangor and Lorna Pullen of Windsor, CO; her sister Maxine McFarland of Hartford; four grandsons – Rob (Jamie) Fisher of Plainwell, MI., Derrick (Monica) Fisher of Watervliet, Chris (Tia) Fisher of St. Joseph and Alex Pullen of Durango, CO.; two granddaughters, Samantha (Josh) Lindley of Vacaville, CA, and Brandy Karsen of Niles; great-granddaughter Megan Fisher; four great-grandsons: Noah Fisher, Jakob, Westen, and Paytton Karsen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved and were very special to her. In addition to her family she has as a couple special friends that helped care for her the last few years of her life, Melinda Perkey and Chloe (Lewis) Murnighan.
Imogene was preceded in death by her Mother Della Fulbright; Father Loyal Hulon Anderson; Husband Loren D. Fisher; Brother Rev. Kenneth Anderson; Granddaughter Raquel Dotson; Grandson Eric Dotson; Brother-in-law Arthur McFarland; Sister-in-law Esther Fisher.
