Sue's Obituary

Sue Stark (Mooney) Turner  Sue lost her 5 year battle to ovarian cancer.  Sue was born to the union of Joseph Orner Stark and Vera May (Matthew) Stark on April 23, 1942 in Friendship, Tennessee. She moved to Chicago with her mother in 1953 and then to Benton Harbor/ Coloma area in 1957. She was an Insurance Agent in the Twin Cities for 20 years. She owned and operated Pat Walkers Passive exercise and nutritional counseling. She was a member and past president of Twin Cities Association of Insurance Women a chapter of the National Association of Insurance Women. She was a past President of Xi Gamma Theta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a member of the Coloma Lioness and Red Hat’s organizations.  She leaves her daughter, Donna Sue Jewell, her son, Dennis Michael Milnickel and her stepson and caregiver, David Michael Turner. Her grandchildren Brendon Palmer Turner, Jacob Isaac Turner, Kyle Marshall Jewell, Dennis Michael Milnickel II, Matthew Alexander Milnickel and Sophia Michel Milnickel. Her Sister Rachel Thorn 0f Dorr, MI.  She was preceded in death by her brother Joe Carlton Stark on July 9, 1978 and sister Virginia Dare Peek on May 29, 2015.  Sue enjoyed the outdoors and raising flowers and traveling to many different locales.  She was able to take cruises to a few international places which was a highlight for her. She received much pleasure and love from her dog Jasper.  She leaves many nieces and nephews that she loved very much.  Sue had many friends and especially her friends Barb Orr, Jim and Melissa Peek, and Donna Lentz who spent countless hours taking her for Chemotherapy sessions in Mishawaka, IN. She also leaves her close dear friend of many years, Betty Arent.  She was preceded in death by her husbands Alton Marshall Mooney on Feb 14, 1993 and Leonard Palmer Turner on Feb 8, 2010.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Paul Mooney officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, October 30, 2015 at the funeral home or on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
