Constance's Obituary
Constance Ann Remus, Age 85, passed away November 6th, 2016, at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in Royalton Township. Ann was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin February 12th, 1931. She was the daughter of Gordon Lindsay and Constance Ott. As a young girl, Ann attended University School of Milwaukee. She later attended Valparaiso University in Indiana before returning home to Milwaukee to marry her high school sweetheart, Kurt Remus. Kurt and Ann had four children and many cherished friends. Ann loved her family dearly, and was a dedicated friend to many. She loved to learn and was an avid reader. Ann volunteered at the local hospital, Toymakers, Junior League Christmas Tour of Homes, the Milwaukee Zoo and the Audobon Center. In addition, she was member of the Whitefish Bay Garden Club, the Whitefish Bay and Milwaukee Women’s Clubs, the DAR, and participated in several investment and bridge clubs.
Ann loved to garden and passed on her love of plants and birds to her children and grandchildren. She cherished time with her friends on trips to Arizona and Florida, and enjoyed trips to northern Wisconsin. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved the beach. Ann treasured her time with family soaking up the sun on Lake Michigan’s shore. She was an excellent cook and will be remembered for masterfully preparing all the wonderful game that Kurt brought home. Ann was a ray of sunshine to so many brightening lives with her love for adventure and fun. She was a faithful friend.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Kurt Remus Jr., daughter Cynthia Poulos, son Kurt Remus, and brother William Lindsay. She is survived by her daughter Heidi Ahern of Stevensville, MI, Carolyn (Bill) Bahr of Marietta, GA, grandchildren, Jason Antonic, Mark (Cali) Ahern, Katy (Matt) Casburn, Curtis Poulos and Nick Poulos, great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jordan, Joshua and Jason Antonic, Emma and Lauren Ahern, and Wesley Casburn. Ann will be greatly missed by her family, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Caring Circle, 4025 Heath Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085 the hospice organization that served Ann and her family so well.
