Helen B. Lambrecht, 86, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 12, 2018. She was born on April 25, 1931 in St. Joseph MI. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1949 and married Richard G. Lambrecht on April 21, 1951. In 1956 Dick and Helen opened Lambrecht’s Liquors, one of the first businesses in the South Town area of south St. Joseph, on Niles Ave. They worked there, side by side, until Dick’s passing in 2003. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph and sang in the adult choir for many years. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time boating on the water in Michigan and Florida.
Helen is survived by her children; Dr. Richard and Linda Lambrecht of Charlton, MA, Reverend Steven and Dr. Debra Hess of Ft. Meyers, FL, and Daniel Lambrecht, J.D. of St. Joseph; her five grandchildren and their spouses; her five great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. She will be remembered as a loving Christian woman who had a smile and a kind word for everyone.
A Coronation Service will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, April 21 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 609 Court Street, St. Joseph, MI, with Rev. Michael Roth officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday, April 20 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, MI. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
