Ross's Obituary
Ross Allan Brumbaugh, 73, of Bangor, passed away at home on March 5, 2024. Born on January 13, 1951 in Jackson Michigan to Virgil and Shirley Brumbaugh.
Ross was the oldest of six children. He is survived by his siblings; Mark (Esther) Brumbaugh, Jana Bachman, Brian (Doreen Bartholomew), Peggy Brumbaugh and Rick Brumbaugh.
Preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Shirley.
Ross graduated in South Haven with the class of 1969. In high school he loved sports, especially football. He attended Northern Michigan University. He then returned to South Haven and became a police officer. After a couple of years, he moved on to become a Berrien County police officer and was also a member of their dive team. Ross retired from police work in 1978 after being shot two times in 1977. He then started a career in truck driving which he did for the rest of his working life. He drove car carriers, managing for a few years at an auto transport company. Ross then moved back to Michigan, worked and drove with Dale Kuhens and KNI, he retired in 2022.
Ross enjoyed collecting firearms, hunting and target shooting, on the farm with his nephews and friends. He was also a skilled cabinet maker, and a car and home repairman which was a necessity with his family and friends. He spent much of his time with good friend Dail Kuhens, driving, repairing, building trucks, collecting and shooting firearms.
A Graveside service for Ross will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2024 at Lakeview Cemetery. Pastor Dan Stout will officiate.
There will be coffee and snacks following the service, at the American Legion Post 160 in Bangor, 19 N Center Street Bangor Michigan 49013
