Maryellen Robards, 81, of Buchanan, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at West Woods of Niles.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or Buchanan Scarecrow Charities. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel. Maryellen was born on December 16, 1940 to James and Mary Buckley in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Niles High School. On March 25, 1972, she married Kenneth L. Robards in Buchanan. Professionally, Maryellen served at Clark equipment for over thirty years, both as an executive secretary and in the lab. After retiring from Clark, she worked at the Buchanan Area Senior Center for many years. Maryellen was very involved in the community, including the Senior Center, American Legion, Moose Lodge, the City of Buchanan and many other groups.
Maryellen is survived by her daughter, Erica Robards; son, Kevin (Barbara) Robards; grandchildren, Devin Simpson, Jared (Abby) Simpson, Aaron Simpson, Braydon Johnson and brother, Victor (Beverly) Buckley. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary and husband, Kenneth Robards.
