Jacky's Obituary

Jacqueline Kay Wesner, 91, of Buchanan, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 20, 2022, at the home they had built in Buchanan.

Jacky, as she went by, was born on May 13, 1931, to Harold C. and Charlotte M. (O’Meara) Stark in Buchanan. She graduated from Buchanan High School in 1949. After graduation, Jacky attended Western Michigan University. On May 3, 1952, she married Gene Wesner, they were blessed to have just reached the milestone of their 70th wedding anniversary this year.

Along with being a housewife and mother, Jacky graced “Jo Dee’s” Dress store in Buchanan as an employee. She thoroughly enjoyed having the “first chance” to see all new shipments of women’s apparel arrive in the store. Jacky was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church where she had taught CCD classes, was involved in the Alter & Rosary Society along with assisting for many years with the funeral dinners of the church. She always kept up to date and in contact with former members of her high school class.

Jacky fulfilled the remainder of her time taking care of her home and family. Always keeping busy as a fill in babysitter, attending sporting events and all other activities that children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were involved in.

Jacky is survived by her husband of 70 years, Gene Wesner; son, Michael & Louanne Wesner; daughters, Michele “Mickey” Wesner and Cheryl & Larry Aalfs; grandchildren, Tim & Brandy Wesner, Jenny & Scott Martin, Matt & Tami Geik, Sarah & Russel Albert, Chad & Barb Shirley, Tori & Tim Austin and Kimi Aalfs; great-grandchildren, Bailey & Travis Wesner, Gavin Martin, Jonah & Jared Pit, Noah & Kinsley Albert, Lucas & Dylan Shirley, Emma & Alaina Austin, Jake & Makayla Aalfs, Logan & Cullen Aalfs Edgerle and her cocker spaniel buddy, Mandy of thirteen years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Charlotte Stark and brothers, Dr. Robert J. Stark and John Robert Stark.

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions in Jacky’s name may be made to Caring Circle Hospice, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, St. Anthony Catholic Church, Buchanan or the Susan G. Koman Foundation.
