Denise's Obituary
Denise R. Neiswender, 56, of South Bend, formerly Galien, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.
Denise was born on March 10, 1966, to David and Yolonna Fay in Buchanan. She graduated from Galien High School in 1984. On July 11, 1992, she married Geoffrey Neiswender in Niles. Denise loved children and ran her own daycare for many years. She enjoyed a wide variety of crafting activities, making many adored gifts for others. Denise also loved traveling, Tennessee, camping, vacations, kayaking, cruises, concerts, NASCAR and country music. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family, especially with her niece and nephew, Kyla and Sean. They went on many family vacations together and always had a second mother in Denise, or “Aunt Nene” as they referred.
Denise is survived by her husband of 30 years, Geoffrey Neiswender; parents, David and Yolanna Fay of Buchanan; sister, Jamie (Nathan) Schlutt of Niles; niece, Kyla (Cameron Siefert) Schlutt of Three Oaks and nephew, Sean Schlutt of Niles.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan. A time of gathering will be held two hours prior from 1-3 also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Foundation, 500 N.
