Bill's Obituary
Daniel Wm. Carney Jr. (Bill) passed away on Saturday, January 8th, with family members by his side. He was born in Benton Harbor Michigan on May 23rd, 1928 to Daniel Wm. Carney Sr., and Lois Dale (Evans) Carney. On May 16th, 1953, he married Mildred Jewel (Latislaw) Carney in Eau Claire, MI. Bill spent his life's work as a heavy equipment operator and as a truck driver. He also is a veteran, serving in the 78th Ordinance of the United States Army.
Bill was a member of Zion Evangelical UCC of St. Joseph, Michigan where he sang in the choir for many years. He also sang with a group called "The Misfits". In the summer Bill enjoyed spending time with his family at their lot on Upper Silver Lake, taking family trips together touring the country, flying his airplane, and snowmobiling in the winter.
He is survived by Millie, his wife of 68 years, and three children, Ricky Wm. Carney and wife Debbie, Wendy Sue Weber (Carney) and husband Darrell, Douglas Mark Carney and wife Sheila, four grandchildren, Sabrina Dannielle Bauer (Weber) and husband Carl Jr., Cody Weber, Michael Douglas Carney and wife Brooke, Joseph Adam Carney and wife Alicia, three great grandchildren, Jacquline Bauer, Carl Bauer III, Casandra Carney, and one on the way (Sabrina), brother Donald Carney wife (Sharon), along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Caroline Jahnke (Carney) and Mary Krugler (Carney)
Per his wishes, a private visitation for the family will be held at the Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650, Niles Road, St. Joseph, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in memory of Bill to the Zion Evangelical Church, UCC, of St. Joseph, MI, at 3001 Veronica Drive.
