Cloyse Dean Nelson, 64, of Buchanan, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Spectrum Health Lakeland, St. Joseph.
Cremation has taken place; a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel, Buchanan. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.swemchapel.com.
Dean was born on October 17, 1957, to Cloyse A. and Kitten (Norris) Nelson. He graduated from River Valley High School in 1975. Dean was a “jack of all trades” and could do practically anything. Through his life, Dean had various successful careers such as a foreman at a foundry, operating his own construction company, raising birds, building cars and flipping houses to name a few. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his family.
Dean is survived by his children, Durk (Julie) Copland; Misty (Troy) Speers, Kelli Nelson and Cloyse Drew Nelson; grandchildren, Courtney (Casey) Schultz, Cade and Cole Hutcheson; great-grandchildren, Marley and Huck Schultz; siblings, Starr Barkmann, Jim Nelson, Colleen Placker, April (Rich) Crowe, Sherry (David) Goode and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cloyse A. and Kitten Nelson and brothers, Gene and Tommy Nelson.
