Bob's Obituary

Robert Marshall Dilley, “Bob”, 58, of St. Joseph, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at his home in St. Joseph. He was born May 9, 1964, to Dick and Betty (Fisher) Dilley.

Bob was a kind, loving, family-centric father who grew up in Midland, Michigan. From there he went to Western Michigan University, where he refined his lifelong skills of playing golf, telling stories, and being both the host and life of the party. He earned a BA in Industrial Engineering and following traveled the world and made friends for over 27 years at Whirlpool. He enjoyed working and flying, as it broke up the time he spent on the golf course. Bob could be seen (and heard) at every sporting event of Alexy, Trevor, Gabrielle, and Sophia, and was known to attend more than a few games even after they graduated. His infectious smile was bested only by his warm, room-filling laugh, and he made everyone feel welcome in his home, cabin, or boat—to know Bob was to know how much he loved bringing people together. In the summer he could be found pool side with his shirt off and drink in hand, firing up both the classic rock and his grill. Beyond being a good guy and a great dad, Bob never missed a chance to remind Michelle that he was also a handsome catch.

Bob is survived by his wife of 25 years, Michelle (Adent) Dilley, whom he married October 5, 1996, in St. Joseph; his children, Alexy Dilley and David Ursing, Trevor Dilley, Gabrielle Dilley, and Sophia Dilley; his mother, Betty Dilley; and his sister, Anne Marie (Martin) Walsh. He is preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Dilley; and his father, Dick.

The family will receive guests from 4-7 pm, Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, May 26, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 220 Church St., St. Joseph. Burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, www.jdrf.org.
