B.G.'s Obituary
B.G. Green, 79, of Buchanan, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25, 2022, at his home. BG was a family man first and foremost. He loved his family greatly and fiercely. Bill Green was absolutely beloved by his wife and children in return.
Bill was born on June 20, 1943, in Tuckerman, AR. He graduated from Buchanan High School in 1961. Bill honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965. He continued his education through Southwestern Michigan College. Bill was very passionate and knowledgeable about many topics; cars, guns, construction techniques, motorcycles and aviation. He maintained his pilot’s license and was a flight instructor for many years.
In 1973, Bill started BG Green Construction, now Green Construction and Engineering, serving Southwest Michigan for nearly fifty years. Operations have continued on with the next generation, remaining family owned and operated.
Bill was very involved in the community, working on many projects with Buchanan Community Schools, Buchanan Lions Club; including the Buchanan High School press box and baseball dugouts, the Niles Veterans Memorial and the Buchanan District Library to name a few. Bill was an incredibly hard worker and valued giving back whenever he had the opportunity.
On November 18, 1988, he married Teresa M. Moore. In 2018, the family was proud to offer the Buchanan community a holistic health and wellness center in the opening of Redbud Fitness & Lifestyle Center and Redbud Health Services. Through great vision, hard work, sweat and tears Bill has helped many others achieve better health, wellness and happiness in their lives.
