Darlene Faye Barger, 88, of Dowagiac, passed away on November 4, 2021, at Borgess Lee Hospital in Dowagiac.
A Celebration of life Service will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 11:00AM at Calvary Bible Church 27032 Marcellus Hwy, Dowagiac, with Pastor Stacey Wilder officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Calvary Bible Church. Memorial contributions in Darlene’s name may be made to Calvary Bible Church. Darlene was born March 17, 1933, in Volinia, to Charles and Katherine (Hilderbridle) Robinson. On May 8, 1949, she married the love of her life, Merle “Curley” Barger. Darlene enjoyed taking photos and had a love for flowers, plants and gardening. She was known as a good person, mom and grandma who loved her family greatly.
Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Curley Barger; children, Prent (Lynn Clark) Barger and Cheryl (Tom) Whitmore; grandchildren, David Clark, Ty Barger-Miller, Angie Groves, Jennifer (Shawn) Whitmore, and Felicia (Mike) Whitmore, Douglas Barger, Chirstina Barger, Shandra Barger; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Katherine Robinson; children, Doug Barger, Sharon Barger, Paul Barger and Elaine Barger; and siblings, Evelyn Ackerman, Willie Robinson and Sherman Robinson.
