Alice's Obituary

Alice E. Morin, 93, of Decatur, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, on Monday, November 22, 2021.
Per Alice’s wishes, cremation has taken place and her family will honor her privately. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Glendwood Seventh-day Adventist Church. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.newellchapel.com.
Alice was born February 14, 1928, in Munising, MI to Joseph and Itanna “Josephine” (DeGarmo) Burns. She married the love of her life, Harold Morin in 1952. Alice worked as a nurse, but her greatest accomplishment was taking care of her children at home. She was devoted to her faith and was a long-time member of the Glenwood Seventh-day Adventist church. Alice enjoyed the country life and loved to garden. Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Alice is survived by her children, Mike (Ronnie) Moran, Paula (Fred) Stinton, Paul “Daner” (Dorothy) Moran, Kandy (Kim) Lamere, Pat Morin, Itanna (John) Dartt, Yvonne Cole; her grandson Grover David Nix who she raised; 26 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Itanna Burns; husband, Harold Morin; son, David Latvala; grandson, Herb Nix and siblings, Rosie Phillips, Daniel Phillips, Herbert Phillips, Howard Phillips, Bill Phillips, Emily Burns Redmon and Joseph Burns.
